Last night, we were up way too late helping #3 with his "I think I'll wait until the very last minute" science project, and up way too early finishing said project.
He had to design, and construct a Rube Goldberg machine with the task of popping a balloon. The machine had certain things it had to include and it was suppose to take 30 seconds or longer. AND, to top it all off, it had to be built, recorded, and explained in a video.
For Your Information: A Rube Goldberg machine is a deliberately over-engineered/overdone machine that performs a very simple task (like popping a balloon) in a very complicated fashion, usually by using a chain reaction. The expression is named after American cartoonist and inventor Rube Goldberg.
Why is it when your kids have something big going on, you don't sleep? Last night I stayed up all night worrying. "What if the video won't upload?" "What if we over sleep?" Dumb stuff like that.
At 1:30 am, since I wasn't sleeping anyway, I decided I might as well do some laundry. Bright and early this morning, when I went to put the clothes into the dryer, I realized I had washed poor #3's iPod touch!
Then my worst nightmare came true when the USB cord for the camcorder wouldn't work. Luckily, after searching for 15 minutes, we found another one, and all was well. The video was safely uploaded to YouTube and emailed to his teacher. - for it not being my assignment, I sure am exhausted!!!!
Good Night, I'm going back to bed.
