Superbowl Sundae

Thought I'd share with you a fun Super Bowl idea.  Because the Super Bowl is on Sunday, we don't watch it at our house.  Whether you watch it or not, it's still a good excuse to have a PARTY with your family, have some yummy treats, and spend time together.  This is what my family will be doing Sunday. . .

ARTICLE OF FAITH SUPERBOWL SUNDAE PARTY!

We will be spending the night learning (or refreshing our memory) the 13 Articles of Faith.  We will also be having an ice cream sundae bar.  Each flavor of ice cream and all the toppings will be assigned an Article of Faith. For each Article of Faith we "pass" off, we will be rewarded with that ice cream flavor/topping for our sundaes. Here are some topping ideas: hot fudge, caramel sauce, strawberries, bananas, mini marshmallows, brownie bites, broken up candy bars, gummy bears, mini chocolate chips, pineapple, maraschino cherries, chopped nuts, crushed oreos, sprinkles, whipped cream
Game ideas to help you learn the Articles of Faith:
Musical Chairs- play the Article of Faith Songs (from the Children's Songbook) as your music. You could even keep it playing softly in the background while you play the other games (the more they hear it, the more the words will sync-in).
Matching Game-  There are several ways to do this.  1.) Print Two Article of Faith Cards, and play like normal.  2.)Print just one card and cut it in half.  This way is more challenging because you have to match up the beginning of the A of F with the end.
What # is it?-The host draws an A of F card and reads it outloud.  The team then has to guess which # Article of Faith it is.
Booklets- Resize the cards to 4x6 or 3x5, and print a set for each family member.  On the back have them write what that Article of Faith is saying, how they would explain it in today's language (i.e. for #1 you could write "we believe that God is our Heavenly Father, Jesus is His Son, and we also believe in the Holy Ghost.  These 3 make up the Godhead, but are seperate, individual beings.").  Punch a hole in the the top and attach with a metal ring.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . .. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
Andi from Hot Pink Pansy was nice enough to allow me to use her kit,  Christmas Cheer to make these Article of Faith Cards to share with you.  Thank You Andi!!!

These are great! Our primary just started doing a similar thing, but we call it "cookie Sunday" - they pass of that month's article of faith on the last Sunday of each month. Did I miss a link to download these? Or do you just save each picture? Thanks!

Love these Articles of Faith cards. I'm going to use them to make a little flip book for my daughter who's getting baptized in a few months. Thanks for sharing!
