Oh Christmas Tree-

It's that time of year again.  The Christmas season is in full swing here at the Collins's house.
We (finally) began decorating the house, slowly but surely.  Each year we have two trees.   Both are up and one is lit and decorated.  YAY!
Yesterday we bought our live tree.  We purchased it from Costco (gotta love Costco).  All their trees were wrapped and unwrapping them to see what was hidden underneath was a no-no.  So we took our chances.  In all our 19 years of buying a fresh Christmas tree, we have never purchased one that has been wrapped.
A wrapped tree has it's Pro's and Con's.  It's really easy to carry through the door,
but you have to fluff it and cross your fingers that it will eventually even itself out.
Which luckily ours did.  PHEW!
And speaking of luck, our tree ended up being beautiful with no crazy branches or huge holes.
Last night for FHE, we also decorated the tree in our family room.
(Looking at these pictures reminds me just how bare our walls are.)
We call this the "Family Tree".  It holds all the homemade ornaments the kids have made over the years.  I love looking at these precious ornaments- such sweet memories.

Right now (probably as you're reading this), I'm still stringing lights on this 9 foot bad-boy of a tree.
Four strands down, a million more to go.
But man oh man, there's nothing like the sweet smell of fresh pine.
Makes my whole house smell like Christmas.
