Anyone remember the 1980's toy Kid Sister?

The commercial (watch it here) had an annoyingly catchy tune that gets stuck in your head for months:

Wherever I go, you're gonna go.

Kid Sister and me!

If you don't remember, you were either living under a rock, or you're not old like me.

It was on the t.v. all the time!

 We're very fortunate to have our very own, living, breathing Kid Sister at our house.

Whatever Big Sister goes, Kid Sister's gonna go, and 

whatever Big Sister does, she's gonna do.

For example,

If #2 doodles, Kid Sister #6 is going to doodle too.

If #2 likes a certain song, Kid Sister #5 is going to like it too, and listen to it over and over and over again.

When I think of #2, I think of the quote:

Be an example to others of all that is good in this world,

for others will copy you, and they will also become good examples.

Families Are Forever

My babies- 

Purposely dress alike because "we're best friends and that's what best friends do".

This year in Primary (a Sunday School for children under 12), the theme for the children is Families Are Forever.  Last Sunday, my two youngest, and the rest of the Primary presented to the congregation what they have learned so far this year.  The kids have different speaking parts and sing songs they have learned.  It's always really cute.

My favorite song this year is The Family is of God by Matthew Neeley.

This song teaches the importance of not only families but also the role each family member plays:

1. Our Father has a family. It’s me!

It’s you, all others too: we are His children.

He sent each one of us to earth, through birth,

To live and learn here in fam’lies.

2. A father’s place is to preside, provide,

To love and teach the gospel to his children.

A father leads in fam’ly prayer to share

Their love for Father in Heaven.

3. A mother’s purpose is to care, prepare,

To nurture and to strengthen all her children.

She teaches children to obey, to pray,

To love and serve in the fam’ly.

4. I’ll love and serve my family and be

A good example to each fam’ly member.

And when I am a mom or dad, so glad,

God gave us families to help us become what He wants us to be—

This is how He shares His love, for the fam’ly is of God.

I can't sing it or even listen to it without the sweet Spirit testifying of it's truthfulness.

I am so grateful "God gave us families" to be each other's best friend and to help each other to learn and grow.

A few weeks ago, Clint gave a FHE lesson using the Children's section of July's First Presidency Message.  

It says:

Heavenly Father wants us to love our families so that we can be happy. The more we serve our families, the more we will love Heavenly Father and our family members.

Draw hearts . . .on a piece of paper and cut them out. Write happy notes or draw pictures on them and secretly deliver them to the members of your family. Watch how happy it will make them!

It's works.  Seeing this sweet note from #5 to #6 does indeed make my mama heart happy!

Do you remember Best Friends Forever necklaces?  Each friend take a half, making them best friends forever!   This is the sister's version.
